- On-site analysis
- General goal setting and problem solving
- Recommendations for consultation and education

- Follow-through
THE GOALS OF THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS:
- Gain an understanding of the employee’s/coworker’s view of the organization’s strengths and challenges

History of SOS
Stan and Cory Schneider, the founders of SOS, are the owners of Guidance Associates of PA (GAP), a mental health and outpatient substance abuse treatment facility and provider of employee assistance programs. Their interests in forming a consulting group grew out of their recognition of the varied professional talent they had on hand to provide services at GAP, as well as their exposure to special needs and concerns in the business community.
Through GAP’s employee assistance programs, they have developed expertise in understanding the interplay between emotions, human relationships and human motivation in a variety of business settings (nuclear industry, insurance, financial institutions, educational settings, health care establishments). Application of clinical psychology’s traditional knowledge and skill base, modified and augmented, is used for employee fitness-for-duty training, and enhancing work performance of individuals, work units/teams and managers at all levels in organizations.
In today’s changing work environments, they have organized SOS to take the pulse of businesses and organizations in order to ensure a comfortable and desirable exchange. As with other expansions over the years, they rely on the needs of the organizations when identifying the services to be developed and offered.
